This photograph shows the NS Otto Hahn near the end of its atomic life around 1979.

The NS Otto Hahn was taken to Geesthacht, Germany, where its nuclear reactor and related equipment were removed by Babcock Noell. The ship was decontaminated and a new diesel power plant installed.
